Dog policy
Sometimes, there is nothing better than a lovely walk along the Dutch coast with your furry friend. Therefore, it is useful to know what the possibilities are for you and your dog at Breakers Beach House.
Your dog is welcome at Breakers Beach House. Although we do charge a fee of €9.50 per dog. In return, your four-legged friend will enjoy the full Breakers Treatment, where he/she really lacks nothing. In addition, we will gladly donate part of this amount to the ‘Stichting Hulphond’ (Assistance Dog Foundation).
We kindly ask you to consider the following house rules for dogs:
- At Breakers, your dog is leashed at all times (running loose is possible on the beach);
- We may call you to account for your dog’s behaviour and any requests will be met by you;
- Any damage caused by the dog will be charged to you;
- Dogs are welcome from 12pm to 8pm;
- We do not welcome wet or dirty dogs in the restaurant. All our guests are well-groomed. So is your four-legged friend. When necessary we can provide a clean towel to refresh your friend.
- From September 1 to May 31, dogs are welcome at Breakers Beach House. During the other months, by order of the municipality, it is not possible to bring your four-legged friend to Breakers Beach House.
Assistance dog foundation / Stichting Hulphond
Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin has a long-standing partnership with the Assistance Dog Foundation. From now on, Breakers Beach House will also be part of this and will donate a contribution of the proceeds to the foundation, which helps people with a physical or mental health problem through the use of an assistance dog or through systemic experiential therapy.
Municipal policy
From June 1 to August 31, the municipality of Noordwijk prohibits dogs on the beaches and in the beach pavilions, including Breakers Beach House. Enforcers strictly monitor this and issue fines to dog owners in case of violations.
Visit the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin website for more information on the dog policy.
