Dog policy

Sometimes, there is nothing better than a lovely walk along the Dutch coast with your furry friend. Therefore, it is useful to know what the possibilities are for you and your dog at Breakers Beach House.

Your dog is, as of 1 February, welcome at Breakers Beach House, for which we charge €9.50 per dog. Your four-legged friend will lack nothing with the real Breakers Treatment. A contribution from the charge will be donated to the Assistance Dog Foundation. Of course, the following house rules apply to your four-legged friend:

  • Leashed (running loose is possible on the beach)
  • We may call you to account for your dog’s behaviour and any requests will be met by you
  • Any damage caused by the dog will be charged to you.
  • Dogs are welcome from noon to 8pm
  • We do not welcome wet or dirty dogs in the restaurant. We will be happy to provide you with a towel to take your dog inside groomed.
  • Dogs are allowed inside on a fee basis and outside on the terrace not from 1 June to 1 September.

Assistance dog foundation / Stichting Hulphond
Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin has a long-standing partnership with the Assistance Dog Foundation. From now on, Breakers Beach House will also be part of this and will donate a contribution of the proceeds to the foundation, which helps people with a physical or mental health problem through the use of an assistance dog or through systemic experiential therapy.

Municipal policy
From 1 June to 31 August, your dog is not allowed on the beach of the Noordwijk municipality. This policy extends to terraces and pavilions on the beach between exit 1 and exit 21. You risk a fine when the municipality checks.

Visit the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin website for more information on the dog policy.
